Today, as Louis (the lovely black pony), Pete (bluish and cream) and Penelope (the one on drugs) frolicked about, enjoying some afternoon snackidge,  they stumbled upon five ponies they had never before seen.  They quickly made friends (Pete shared some of his lumps of sugar).  They learned the names of these delightful newcomers.  Horace being the black and white pony, Horhay the purple and cream, Lyndon the chestnutish one, Clamentine being orangeish and paint colored, and Keegs being red and spotted.  They decided, soon after making friends, that together they would form their own herd, celebrating individuality and uniqueness!! ♥

i.  This week has consisted of early mornings, very late nights, rain, climbing buildings, watching sunsets and laying under the starry skies for hours, nectarines and strawberries, picnics, catching up with old friends, drunken adventures, letter writing, late night runs and far too much dreaming.

ii.  I am ridiculously broke.  I have no job all summer.  I'm thinking of setting up a lemonade stand...

iii. I watched Charlie Bartlett for the first time a few days ago, the score SO GOOD!!!!!

Dude!  Working 2 jobs in high school is so not fun!  Pardon my absence, it is something which i am going to try to rectify in the future!  Bla bla bla, i was going to write something long and boring and pointless, but i shall refrain!

I forgot how beautiful fall is.  I always associate fall with the feeling of dread; it being the end of summer and the start of ten months of school, winter fast approaching... but it really isn't all that bad - for now at least.  The trees are all covered in pretty autumn colored leaves and it's still warm enough to spend most of the day outside without a sweater.  I'm actually looking forward to winter this year, oddly enough i do most years.  I'm not entirely sure why, i just miss it...  What are you up to these beautiful days?

CURRENTLY READING:
Breaking Dawn, by Stephanie Meyer, page 555, chapter 29: and STILL nothing has happened, if i hadn't already read a chapter by chapter summary of the entire book i would speculate that perhaps something is about to happen, but i know this to be untrue... several hundred pages to go :( uuugh.
The Silver Chair, by C.S. Lewis, page 53, chapter 4: Jill and Eustace are meeting with the parliment of the owls!  Glimfeather is amazing :) Tu-whoo!!

Hello hello hello! It’s been a while, so much has happened, but yet I’ve done very little - pretty much nothing, actually - over the last week.  Oh but it has been just delightful!  For the most part I spent my time in a vegetative state, watching the Olympics and all sorts of random shows, occasionally getting up to eat or go for a walk, but I haven’t really done anything productive in a while!  Since jam-making actually.  I had all these wonderful plans to craft massive amounts of some random little things every day, and many far more strange plans... but I think, if by the end of this summer I’ve accomplished nothing accept becoming a truly proficient couch potato, that would be enough in my mind :).

One thing I actually did accomplish last week, was getting hired at Starbucks!  I am sooo excited, you have no idea!  If you didn’t know this about me, I am a coffee fiend, actually I need a more accurate word... no, can’t think of one.  But I drink A LOT of coffee.  I had my first shift today and I drank more coffee than I thought was possible for one person, and that’s saying a lot for me to say that!  Free coffee at the start of my shift, during my shift, at my break, after my shift ended, coffees we otherwise would have thrown out... oh it was marvelous!  I got to try all these different blends, did you know that espresso shots have a life of 15 seconds so we have to make drinks super fast?  It was truly fascinating.  I’m not sure how many cups of coffee I actually had, but it was amazing!  It was really fun too because I’m constantly experimenting at home with our little old fashioned ancient boil-over-the-stove espresso machine, ha ha!  Oh and trying to call them out was fun too.  I had to try and read what kinds they were on the sides of the coffees and I kept saying them completely wrong and the customers would just shake their heads and walk away laughing at me.  My manager is really nice too.  Unfortunately most of this shift (and the next few too probably) was (and will be) a lot of paperwork, but I’m really excited for this job, and I haven’t been actually excited to have a job in a while!

That was a fun little spiel!  I suppose I should explain myself now, for my lack of a decent post...  I’ll try this week to complete some of the things I’ve been planning on making, but knowing me, that ‘week’ may turn out to be much longer.  I hope you are having a marvelous summer!

I love evening runs, they're so relaxing and such a great way to finish off ones day.  I just got back from one and i feel absolutely marvelous!  Speaking of ones day, today the poisson (the name i call my mother) and I made jam :).  I'm happy to say it was a success, the only reason being, because she helped me, ha ha! But regardless, the help i contributed didn't destroy anything or cause a disaster :D.  We made strawberry/rhubarb jam, and the rhubarb was from my garden!  It was really quite an interesting process, apart from preparing the fruit, it was really rather easy and didn't take too too long, to my immense surprise.  The crushing of the strawberries was pretty nifty...  So we made this delicious jam and tomorrow we are making blueberry jam!  I am so very excited, it shall be swell.

So tomorrow is the great day where a nice large group of us give our two weeks notice in, at the restaurant that i work at.  It's rather convenient since i have an interview at Starbucks on Thursday, i really hope i get the job.  Aaanyway, my next post is actually going to be a craft post.  I've been making little things here and there but i haven't actually sat down and sewn anything in a very long time.  My sewing table was stolen by another member in my family as well, so it will be interesting working on the floor.

Hello!  May I introduce you to the worlds most hideous dress, seriously.  And lucky me, I made it!  I had absolutely no idea it would look this ghastly, in fact when I saw the pattern in a thrift shop i thought it would be incredibly easy and may even look somewhat cute, however it does not.  I'm also incredibly embarrassed that I sewed it so horribly, i've never done such a crappy sewing job on anything!  It wasn't even that hard of a pattern, i just started it so long ago, and with my sewing machine constantly eating the fabric, or me having a lack or supples or patience, i wouldn't put enough effort into it, thus it turned out hideous with a bad sewing job.  It looks almost medieval, and its SO HUGE!  Eww.

The other day i met a new friend!
He is small and friendly and always cheerful:
A little bird named "Herbert"!
My new little friend sits on my finger all day long:
He sings me songs and tells me of life as a bird!
Today he brought me a worm to eat,
Luckily he wasn't too offended when I declined.
Later he introduced me to some of his friends,
and now they come and visit Herbert and I every day...
